From the Partner
Black Bee Honey is B Corp certified. Sustainability is at the core of what we do and we believe that businesses have to put nature first.
We’ve implemented a circular model where 2% of our turnover is used to create wildflower meadows, a vital habitat for honey bees and other pollinators. With your help we’ve created over 20 acres of meadow so far!
At Black Bee Honey we respect the bees and the environment, creating jaw-dropping honey which oozes with the best flavours the British countryside and its seasonal cycles has to offer. We believe in nature, craftsmanship and community, which is why we want to keep British honey wild.
Everyone has the right to know where their food comes from and how it’s made, this is why we nurture a British beekeeping community who do things the right way.
Knowing exactly who made the honey and where means we can put that on every jar. This is in contrast with the majority of the honey we consume in the UK that is often described as a ‘Blend of EU and Non-EU honey’. 90% in fact is imported and most of that from China, a country with a poor track record for honey authenticity.
Our trusted network of honey producers all love their craft and their bees just like we do. In fact, we’ve created a beekeeping code of conduct, which all our suppliers proudly sign, committing to the highest ethical and beekeeping standards.
Though our beekeepers are spread across the country, the honey they produce is essentially the same stuff as the jars you’d find at your local farmers’ market. It’s as authentic and local as honey gets just with a nationwide reach.
